A. Caravans at our park may only be used for holiday purposes. They cannot be used as anyone’s main residence. For this reason, we require a council tax and utility bill before you purchase a caravan with us, and for future verification.
A. A holiday is a period of recreation spent away from your main residence, during which no work is undertaken.
A. This can vary depending on individual circumstances. The key point is that anyone staying in the caravan must have a separate main residence where they primarily live.
A. There is no limit to the number of holidays you may take, provided the caravan is not used as someone’s only or main home.
A. No. Regular commuting from the park would strongly indicate that the caravan is being used as a primary residence.
A. Holidaymakers may be seen as temporary patients if they become ill. However, those with a main residence elsewhere should not need to register permanently with a local doctor unless specific health needs require it.
A. Being retired does not automatically mean you are on holiday. You must still maintain a main residence elsewhere.
A. No. Running a business from the caravan is not compatible with holiday use. However, keeping in touch with work—for example via laptop, tablet, or smartphone while on holiday is acceptable.
A. No, we do not facilitate postal deliveries. Routine delivery of mail would suggest the caravan is being used as a main residence.
A. No. Caravans are not subject to Business Rates or Council Tax. Registering for Council Tax or receiving Housing Benefit to cover pitch fees would strongly indicate use as a main residence.
A. Your Licence Agreement requires you to comply with the holiday-use rule. If you breach this, we will ask you to stop immediately. Continued non-compliance may result in the termination of your Licence Agreement and removal of the caravan. The planning authority may also take action.
A. The Licence Agreement does not permit the caravan to be used as a main residence under any circumstances, including temporarily.
Please note: The Bay Caravan Park is a park for static holiday caravans only. We do not cater for tents, tourers or motorhomes etc. Caravans are not to be used as a main residency – a residential address must be provided.
